Hailed as a “technically flawless and fearless virtuoso” by the legendary Daniel Pollack, Costa Rican pianist Josue González has emerged as one of the most compelling musical voices of his generation. With a commanding stage presence and a deeply lyrical touch, his performances have captivated audiences on some of the world’s most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and Bolshoi Hall.
Josue’s musical journey reflects an elite education spanning the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the University of Minnesota, and the USC Thornton School of Music, where he earned his Master of Music under Daniel Pollack. He has won over 25 national and international competitions, earning acclaim from world-renowned artists such as Eliso Virsaladze, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, and Seymour Bernstein.
A trailblazer for his country, González was the first Costa Rican pianist to perform a solo recital at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. His artistry has been showcased for distinguished figures including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oscar Arias and His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, then Prince of Asturias.
González has appeared as soloist with ensembles such as the Spivakov Virtuosi, Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá, and the Costa Rica National Symphony Orchestra. His international appearances span from New York to Moscow, Paris to Bogotá, consistently earning standing ovations and critical praise.
Not confined to the classical realm, Josue brings a unique musical voice through his fluency in jazz. He studied under Grammy-nominated pianist Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets), blending classical mastery with modern improvisational depth. This versatility makes him a sought-after session musician and music director, with recent collaborations through platforms like Musiversal and performances at industry-defining events such as NAMM 2025, where he was featured as a Studiologic Keyboards artist.
As an educator, Josue is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of pianists through his private studio and international masterclasses. His students have gone on to win recognition in prestigious competitions including Bradshaw & Buono and American Protégé.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and Russian, Josue González is more than a pianist—he is a global ambassador for music, a passionate educator, and a visionary artist who continues to inspire audiences across genres and generations.
